I certainly did not plan this trip
this way, it just happened. Things fell together and before I knew it I had
a 21-day debate trip planned that covered two continents and three debate tournaments.
This is the journal of that trip.
I have previously written journals about my trips outside of the USA, and mostly
as a way to say thank you to my hosts and friends but also as a way of letting
Americans know that debate does exist in other countries. This time, however,
there is a substantial portion of the trip in the USA, and I think it will provide
me with an opportunity to share with my international friends and colleagues
what the American debate experience is like as well as sharing with my American
friends my international adventures.
This trip has several components.
I hope this is an interesting commentary on the emerging global debate community. It features competition at local, national, and international levels.
