The New York Urban Debate League, a consortium of over 30 inner city NYC high schools in cooperation with the Open Society Institute and the IMPACT Coalition, staged its first tournament this last weekend. 82 teams participated. Alfred Snider did pairing and tabulation and Casey Gervais and Sarah Snider attended as judges. The LDU has a long relationship with UDLs nationally, and hundreds of these students have attended the World Debate Institute. Many students this last weekend indicated their interest in attending UVM.
Debate and argument training texts, huge number of instructional videos, and more available at the LDU website, DEBATE CENTRAL, the largest and most comprehensive debate website in the world.
