The Voice of Edwin is the weekly newsletter of the Edwin Lawrence Debate Union at the University of Vermont, an endowed co-curricular program which trains students in debating and sponsors national competition and community events. NEWS OF THE SUMMER

NEW YORK TIMES FEATURES WORLD DEBATE INSTITUTE

UVM became the center of world debate for two weeks this summer as students from 14 different nations were on campus for the World Debate Institute. The New York Times covered the event, and the story is well worth reading. After 19 years it was good to get such positive publicity for our struiggle to replace weapons with words all over the world.
