MORE MIDWEST SUCCESS

Debating in Round Two | Snider & Morgan with Awards

The LDU continued its Midwestern strategy this last weekend. With both national tournaments to be held in Kansas City this year, Vermont has visited the Midwest many times. This weekend Sarah Snider & Helen Morgan entered the varsity division at the Southern Illinois University Saluki tournament, one of the oldest and most traditional tournaments in that region. After a 4-2 preliminary record, Sarah and Helen lost a close 2-1 decision to Illinois State University to finish FIFTH in the tournament. In speaker awards, however, UVM was the most dominant team and school. He;len Morgan was rated the #1 debater in the varsity division and Sarah Snider was rated the #5 debater in the varsity division. After two tournaments in the East, Helen and Sarah will return to the Midwest for the Heart of America tournament at the University of Kansas.
