If you have any senior debaters that are either thinking about attending or planning on attending Syracuse University in the Fall and are interested in debating in college, please pass along some information about the Syracuse University Debate Union. The Syracuse University Debate Team has been in existence for 115 years. The team is active in both NDT and CEDA Policy Debate. We compete on both the regional circuit and National circuit. We attend approximately 16 - 18 tournaments a year. The program is well funded and all travel expenses, including airline tickets, rental vans, entry fees, hotels, and most meals, are paid for. The mission of the Syracuse University Debate team is to complement and not to take the place of, academics. That is why we can boast an average G.P.A. of 3.75 among our debaters. We try to keep the time commitment down as much as we can in order to maximize time for classes, studies and other activities. If "burnout" or "time commitment" is a concern for you, it probably won't be in our program. Thank you for considering Syracuse University. If you have any additional questions, I can be reached at my office; (315) 443-2308, at home; (607) 749-8715 or by E-Mail at; fpirizar@vpa.syr.edu. I hope to hear from some of you soon.
